Since 1985, Assistance League of Flintridge has administered an instrumental music program during the school year for students in grades 4 through 6.  Classes are held in the three La Cañada Unified School District elementary schools, either before or after school and on Saturdays in the ALF Chapter Meeting Room.  Students receive 60 minutes of instruction, once a week, and receive extra instruction through off-campus sectionals and special practices.  Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in special events like the Instrument Petting Zoo and Rental Day,
All students perform in a winter concert and a spring concert at Lanterman Auditorium each year.  Advanced * students in String Orchestra and Concert Band, also perform during In-School concerts at the elementary schools, and a concert at La Cañada High School with the 7/8 students in December. For the Spring Concert at Lanterman Auditorium, advanced students also have the opportunity to audition for a solo part.
