Math Olympiad Team 2021-2022 – Grades 4, 5, 6

Does your child love math and problem-solving? Would they like “hanging out” and having fun with other math-loving kids? Then become a mathlete and join the Math Olympiad team! This team will push and challenge your child while participating in fun math challenges and competitions!

Your school’s Math Olympiad Team is an online, after-school math competition team for students in 4th through 6th grade. Synchronous virtual training sessions will be held weekly. Asynchronous math challenges will be posted and debriefed on Google Classroom in between. This program will last from September to March. Students on the Math Olympiad Team will have the opportunity to participate in up to four math competitions, including MOEMS, Mathzilla!, United We Math and Math Field Day, depending on contest and local rules amid the ongoing the COVID-19 crisis.

This year we have space for a maximum of 25 students per team (75 total, 4th through 6th grade). If your child is interested, you will add them to the Interest List, which will open in late August, date TBD. Once the Interest List closes, students will be placed on teams based on district-wide criteria. Interest List Sign-Up does not guarantee a place on the team. Based on the number of students interested, a waitlist may be formed. Once teams have been formed, students and parents will be notified with instructions for how to register and process donations. Class will start after Labor Day.
