Nutrition and Fitness Week - March 1st to 5th, 2021

 

 

  1. Mindfulness. Mindful eating just means that we recognize that all foods have a purpose. Some foods nourish the body and some foods nourish the soul, and sometimes foods nourish both! Take the time to learn about how certain foods help your body and eat with intention.
  2. Balance. At HealthStart we don’t label foods as “good” or “bad”. While we encourage folks to stick with foods that nourish their body, we know sometimes you just want a sweet or fried salty snack. That’s fine too as long as you are meeting your body’s needs with most of the food you eat.
  3. Togetherness. Food brings people together. Use meal time as an opportunity to hold conversations with your child. Share family recipes to teach children about their culture or ethnicity. Encourage your child to help out in the kitchen. Remember that food is best when shared in the company of others.
